The Buckland Shag Morris Men

A Dancing Tradition Since 1987

Welcome

The Buckland Shag Morris Men on tour in Kent

The Buckland Shag Morris Men are based in the Reigate area of Surrey.¬† The name is taken from a local tradition of a monstrous horse which was said to inhabit the Shag Brook. The side dances Cotswold Morris and appears at pubs in the area throughout the summer. ¬†Practices are held on Friday nights from 8 o’clock at Leigh Village Hall from September to April.

The Buckland Shag Morris Men are always happy to welcome new members – dancers or musicians. If you are in the Surrey area (and we have some long-distance members) please get in touch. You might be surprised how normal we are!
